The Pier has a very active angling club of 70 or so members who enjoy fishing from the end of the pier. Whiting in the autumn, Codling in the winter, Dover Sole and Bass in the summer months. We had a 6lb Bass caught and a mackerel was caught on feather, not seen here for a while!
There are a healthy bunch of all ages who fish all year round regardless of the weather! It’s a wonderful place to see the sunrise and a great place to enjoy true peace and quiet.
Day Fishing Permits for non-members are available from the Promenade Cafe. They cost £6.50 and you can fish from 9am to 4pm.
