Recycling
As a company we are very aware of our environment and try to heighten our workforce’s awareness of the impact their carelessness can have on it. For example, in the last three years we have implemented the recycling of the following items:
Cooking Oil – we invested in an Oil Filtration Machine which means we can extend the life of our cooking/frying oil without any reflection on taste or freshness of the end product;
Cardboard – Council recycling bins;
Plastic – frequent trips to the Household Waste Disposal;
Bottles – we applied for and were given our own bottle bank;
Cans – for both cooking and drinking – recycled in our own can bank;
Ink cartridges – recycled to Tommy;
All our sandwich packaging, pots for salads and puddings for the takeaway department are recycled and compostable;
We give old machines to Tim Hunkin who miraculously turns them into some of the best loved machines in the Under the Pier Show.
We have a solar-powered sign at the entrance to the Pier.
