Rebecca is a Painter and Illustrator based in Norwich.  Her Art Deco style is influenced by travel and advertising posters of the 1920’s and 30’s.  Much of the Architecture she depicts is of that Era too.  Rebecca uses bright colours in a sleek stylised fashion keeping the compositions well balanced yet still very eye catching.

Rebecca combines techniques of hand painted acrylic painting and more graphic approach of adobe illustrator/ vector based drawings. Her style lends itself well to both practises.

The influence of Rebecca’s upbringing on the Suffolk Coast near Southwold is very evident within her work and is a place Rebecca continues to revisit artistically. She also has a great affinity with certain areas of London (Particularly The Underground Stations) Norfolk and The South Coast.

The initial creative spark for the launch of The Upcycled Shop came from a love of making crafts and caring for the environment.
People have been putting a major strain on the environment and we can all make small changes to help our world. Every year in the UK 1.6 million tonnes of furniture and bulky waste is thrown out, most of which is buried in landfill and more than 28 billion glass bottles and jars end up in landfill every year.
This shows that there is enough items already available that can be reused and updated into something new and there is so much more that needs to be done.
The Upcycled Shop was launched to show that it is possible to update your home without having to continuously purchase brand new items and exploit resources. Highlighting that you don’t need to keep buying new items from big brands and that old is now the new ’new’.
They upcycle jars and bottles of all different shapes and sizes that would normally be thrown away and turn them into something new and unique for people’s homes. Predominantly using the crafting technique decoupage, which involves decorating items through using paper cut-outs and gluing them onto the surface.

Nina began pebble painting in the summer of 2017 as an activity with her children.  Her inspiration comes from a variety of areas and uses this to create unique, hand painted, glittered pebbles.

Her unique designs feature elements of the Suffolk Coast and Southwold and are a truly unique way to remember your visit or a perfect gift for those hard to buy for.
