Latest Update

Following the latest lock down announced by the UK Government, the pier will be closed.  For Heath & Safety reasons, there will be no access to the Pier at all during this time.

If you have any enquiries please email us on admin@southwoldpier.co.uk and we will respond to you.

We will update you all in the future of our reopening date but in the meantime, please stay safe and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Fishing

There’s plenty of fish in the Southwold sea.

Keen fisher or novice, you’re welcome to spend your day sea angling from the end of the Pier. You can pick up a Day Fishing Permit from The Boardwalk Restaurant for just £6.50 which will allow you to enjoy a full day’s fishing.

Cast your line at Southwold’s most easterly point and see what takes the bait. Regular catches include Whiting in the autumn and Codling in the winter, while Dover Sole and Bass are plucked from the water in the summer months.

It’s a wonderful place to see the sunrise and a great place to enjoy true peace and quiet. And if you need any tips or local knowledge, there’s usually a member of the Southwold Pier Angling Club nearby who will be happy to share their experience.

We also offer an annual fishing permit for the cost of £160 – please email admin@southwoldpier.co.uk for further information and details of how to obtain a permit.
