Boardwalk Restaurant

Open today from 9:30 am - 5:00 pm

It’s hard to decide what’s best about eating at the Boardwalk Restaurant: the views or the food. It’s a good job you can enjoy them both at the same time …

Excellent cooking and unbeatable views meet at the Boardwalk Restaurant. Whether you’re catching up with friends for tea, treating your family to lunch, enjoying a special evening à deux, or simply here on the spur of the moment – you’re assured of a wonderful meal.

Everything we serve is freshly made by talented, passionate chefs using seasonal local produce. Our menus change throughout the year to ensure variety and the best flavours.

At the Boardwalk, you can enjoy your food while watching the waves roll in, and we provide seating outside as well. There’s nothing quite like al fresco dining on the Pier during the summer!

  • Extensive main menu with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options
  • Special Brunch menu, served every day between 9.30am and 11.30am
  • Lunch is served from 12.00pm, and Dinner menu is available until 8.30pm
  • Enjoy Afternoon Tea between 2.30pm and 4.30pm – booking is essential
  • Full range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages on offer
  • Reserve your table for dinner from 5pm onwards

Where possible we source our food and drink from local suppliers, reducing food miles and supporting the region’s food producers. (And getting the very best flavours onto your plate.)

Adnams is synonymous with Southwold. This award-winning brewery has been in the town since 1872. Famous for their range of beers, and now for gin and vodka, they do their brewing and distilling just five minutes from the Pier. You can often smell the scent of hops and malted barley as it wafts through the narrow streets.

Southwold wouldn’t be Southwold without Adnams: whilst you’re visiting the Pier why not consider a tour of the brewery, and then you’ll know exactly where your refreshments come from!

The Penny Bun Bakehouse is owned by John Spillings, an artisan baker who trained in many of the top Michelin star restaurants in the country. It was during his time working for Raymond Blanc that he discovered his passion for bread and patisserie, which led to him opening his Suffolk bakery where he and his team work their magic.

South East Coffee are based in Norwich, just an hour from Southwold. They are an innovative team who take the latest exciting developments within the trade and use them to develop great new coffees. They use traditional methods to slow roast their beans, resulting in a rich aroma and a wonderful flavour.

Stokes Sauces is a Suffolk based creator of delicious sauces, mayonnaises and pickles. They bring together quality ingredients to make their sauces, resulting in a finer taste than you get with other brands. They are passionate about what they produce and everything they sell is made by them on their own production line so they can ensure it meets the required standard.

A family business, just ten miles from Southwold Pier, Suffolk Meadow have been producing luxury ice-cream for over 30 years. They use milk and cream from the Marybelle Dairy, and many of their base flavours are still crafted carefully by hand. They offer a wide array of varieties and proudly claim they can make any flavour, having in the past created such delicacies as pink lemonade sorbet, stick of rock and even blue cheese!
